3rd Lamp Lighting Ceremony

On 22nd April 2010 Fortis Institute of Nursing (an Institute under Fortis Hospitals Ltd.,), Bangalore celebrated its third Lamp Lighting Ceremony. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. S. Ramananda Shetty, the Vice-Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The Guest of Honour was Dr. B. S. Shakuntala the dean Faculty of Nursing (RGUHS) and Mr. Vishal Bali, the CEO of Fortis Hsopitals Ltd.

Dr. Shetty speaking on the occasion congratulated and thanked the students for taking up this noble profession and highlighted the importance of nursing for the successful management of corporate hospitals like Fortis Hospitals Ltd. He also congratulated the company for ensuring quality education and clinical experience for these students.
Dr. Shakunthala in her speech highlighted the importance of Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the nursing students and along with the Vice-Principal Mrs. Thressiamma conducted the Lamp Lighting for 62 nursing students of the college.
Mr. Vishal Bali, CEO of the Fortis Hsopitals Ltd., briefly spoke about the changes the company has undergone and the benefits the students can look forward to because of this change. He highlighted the importance of quality nurses in managing world class hospitals like one that the company is having at Bannerghatta Road in Bangalore. While praising the staffs, students and others who are associated with management of the college, he reassured everybody about the commitment of the company to make this college one of the best in Bangalore.
Principal Mr. Shridhar K.V. spoke about the phenomenal progress the college has made during the short period of three years since its existence. Meritorious students of the college were awarded in this function.
Hundreds of parents present to see the Lamp Lighting Ceremony were entertained with cultural programs performed by the college students.
